There’s no riding for me today.
Over the past three days, I spent 18 hours in the saddle, and added 800 miles to my odometer.
With beautiful desert weather and a nice pool at the Bowman house, it’s time to cool my jets.
Tomorrow, Dave and I leave the comfort of his Henderson hacienda, and begin 21 straight days of riding. Once we leave Casa Bowman, I’ll have 5,000 miles ahead of me before returning to Carbondale. Taking a day off is not a tragedy.
I plan to enjoy my day of leisure. See you in the morning.

My number today: 1,025 (weight, in pounds, of my fully loaded Harley — including me — when I hit the road tomorrow)
What’s your number?
Gary: Looking forward to hearing more as you take off on another adventure. I am much missing Kay Herring these days. I think you knew she died last summer of Lymphoma cancer…and is sorely missed by me and many others. I can’t remember where you guys live nowadays. Is it in Las Vegas? Let me know, as I may tour west one of these days. best, erik peterson

So sorry to hear about Kay, Erik. I didn’t know. My dad died from lymphoma, too. He was 69.
We live in Carbondale CO, about 25 miles from Aspen. Would love to see you. Let us know when you’re out west.
Vroom!

Sounds like you guys are ready. I will be following you guys, and so wishing I could have made it along too. Safe travels and keep the rubber side down!

Thanks, Scott. I think we’re ready to go. Dave just needs to pick out an outfit for tomorrow. He’s a fashion perfectionist, so could be up most of the night.

Last pool pic for 24 days. Expect to see one of Dave when he arrives back in Henderson. Glad you’ll be along for the ride, Lynn.
